Job Summary

Position Title: Project Manager, Cardiology Department

 

Job Summary: The Project Manager for the Cardiology Department is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing projects aimed at improving the operations and services provided within the cardiology outpatient services. This includes managing timelines, budgets, resources, and team coordination to ensure the success of the department’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Project Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop and manage detailed project plans for specific initiatives within the cardiology outpatient department.
    • Define project goals, objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with cardiology leadership and stakeholders.
    • Ensure projects align with organizational strategies and regulatory standards.
  • Team Coordination:
    • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including medical staff, administrative personnel, and external vendors, to achieve project goals.
    • Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, identify roadblocks, and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Resource Management:
    • Manage project resources effectively, including staffing, budgets, and technology.
    • Ensure that resources are allocated efficiently to support project activities.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify areas for process improvement within the cardiology outpatient setting, such as patient flow, scheduling efficiency, and quality of care.
    • Implement process changes and monitor their effectiveness, ensuring that any improvements are sustainable.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all projects meet regulatory standards, hospital policies, and accreditation requirements.
    • Track and report on project quality outcomes and patient satisfaction metrics, making necessary adjustments to improve service delivery.
  • Budget and Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints.
    • Monitor spending and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communication within the cardiology department.
    • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, outcomes, and any risks or issues.
  • Training and Education:
    • Facilitate training and development sessions for staff on new processes, technologies, and systems introduced through the project.
    • Ensure that staff members are equipped to handle changes effectively.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Collect and analyze data related to project performance, patient care metrics, and operational efficiency.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership to evaluate project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
    • Proven experience in project management, preferably in a healthcare or outpatient setting.
    • Strong knowledge of cardiology practices and patient care processes.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar tools).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze data and prepare reports for leadership review.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credentials.
    • Experience working in cardiology or another specialized medical field.
    • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and hospital management software.
    • Salary $80,000-$90,000
