Co-op Student (Construction)
About this role
Overview
We are looking for a co-op student available for 4, 8 and 12 months starting January 2026.
What you will be doing
- Participate in preliminary estimates and details with the use of the guidelines for the projects relating to the field of Municipal Infrastructure
- Take part in design calculations and plans to ensure matching to the guidelines, the code requirements and other regulations
- Assist in maintaining relationships with clients in order to define their needs; explain technical information, concepts or study results
- Produce statements of quantities and prepare the budget assessments
- Verify and complete requests for proposals (RFPs), estimates and other technical documents
- Draft or proofread parts of the proposal, prepare documents for submittal
- Assist the project manager when help is needed. Perform all other related tasks that will help complete the project
What we are looking for
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering
- Ability to take initiative, pay attention to details, and work in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Knowledge and /or experience with the following a definite plus: AutoCAD, Civil3D, Heavy Bid
- Knowledge and/or experience in the design of municipal infrastructure projects preferred
- Experience in engineering consulting will be considered an asset
- Excellent MS Excel and MS Word skills
