Overview

The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership and direction for day-to-day field operations of the assigned projects, direct and ensure field execution plan the company way to maximize overall business objectives and ensure maximum profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment through maintaining safety meetings, incident investigations and employee involvement.
  • Provides key leadership direction for field operations on a project to ensure a cohesive team in conjunction with project management.
  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
  • Manages field personnel priorities relating to technical ability and staffing levels to gain greater efficiencies to improve customer satisfaction and reduce cost. Includes working with business unit manager and operations manager to coordinate hiring of local staff, conducting performance review, recommending salary changes and resolving internal personnel issues.
  • Responsible for coordinating all site construction activities and supervising all field personnel as required to successfully completing the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities.
  • Performing material take-offs, order tools, material and equipment.
  • Coordinating of installation between trades and coordinating subcontractor progress.
  • Ensuring all on-site employee comply with OSHA standards and company work rules.
  • Scheduling equipment deliveries with General Contractor and periodic inspections by governing authorities.
  • Ensures compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements.
  • Ensure the quality of work to corporate standards and project requirements.
  • Conducts Staff Meetings Foreman and field personnel, addressing management issues as well as safety and productivity improvements.
  • Responsible for projects financial labor, material and other cost type budgets and goals.
  • Works with project team to make certain start-up and commissioning is executed in accordance with company and project standards.
  • Assists in coordinating and quality assurance of drafting resources and fabrication/manufacturing on the project.
  • Maintains company culture.
  • Implements FIELD Productivity Improvements, assure project compliance and quality assurance.
  • Maintains Customer Satisfaction.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
