About this role

Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Cyber Team Deputy to support ongoing cybersecurity readiness assessments and compliance operations within a DoD enterprise IT environment. The Deputy assists the Team Lead in coordinating technical evaluations, data analysis, and reporting activities to ensure full compliance with DoD cybersecurity and RMF requirements. 

This position plays a key role in executing assessment tasks, verifying remediation, and supporting inspection readiness across the supported enterprise network. 

This position is onsite at HSV – Redstone Arsenal.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support planning, scheduling, and execution of cybersecurity assessments and inspections. 
  • Conduct control validation and vulnerability scanning using DoD-approved tools (e.g., ACAS, Nessus). 
  • Collect and analyze technical data to identify system misconfigurations and vulnerabilities. 
  • Assist in documenting findings, drafting reports, and tracking remediation efforts. 
  • Coordinate with ISSOs and system administrators to verify compliance status. 
  • Support the development and refinement of standard operating procedures and assessment templates. 
  • Serve as acting team lead when required. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned processes for readiness operations. 
  • Manage and maintain system records within the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) platform. 
  • Support the full lifecycle of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for Army information systems, including categorization, control selection, implementation, assessment, and authorization.   

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement:  Active Secret clearance required. 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Systems. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 6 years of cybersecurity or IT assessment experience in a DoD environment. 
  • Experience performing control validation or compliance analysis. 
  • Hands-on experience with RMF/ATO processes, continuous monitoring, and vulnerability scanning tools.   
  • Experience managing and maintaining system records within the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) platform.   
  • Desired: Experience in space and missile defense.   

Certifications: 

  • CompTIA Security+ CE required. 
  • CEH or equivalent preferred. 

Skills: 

  • Proficiency with RMF documentation and vulnerability management tools. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Strong analytical, communication, and technical documentation abilities. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a mission-focused assessment team.
