About this role

Overview

As a Field Application Specialist Genomics (qPCR and Digital PCR), you should have an exceptional technical expertise, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion to deliver excellence in customer support. We are looking for someone to cover whole of The Netherlands, however occasional support to Belgium and Luxembourg is to be expected.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Partner with our sales team to deliver pre- and post-sales high-level customer support.
  • Support the sales team with instrument/workflow lead finding, identification, opportunity development and implementation in customer laboratories.
  • Be the trusted expert for our customers (qPCR and Digital PCR) enabling engagement with customers at the highest levels of science.
  • Provide timely scientific, technical and applications assistance in response to customer inquiries to both client and sales team.
  • Provides troubleshooting support to customers in the field or by phone/email/virtual meetings.
  • Resolves and/or escalates customer issues & complaints.
  • Organizes and performs product demonstrations and new-user trainings at customer or company sites.
  • Drive increased reagents and consumable sales on the installed base Genomics.
  • Responsible for demo instruments and sites in NL.
  • Reports feedback from customers on applications and/or products to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Stays up-to-date on scientific and industry trends and innovations.
  • Support technical training for the sales team as appropriate.
  • Acts as partner with the sales team/management to timely provide a realistic forecast on instrument and reagent sales.

What You Bring:

  • MSc or PhD in a Life Science discipline or related field (BSc to be considered based on experience).
  • Strong molecular background (qPCR, NGS) and experience with assay design and digital PCR strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years experience working in a laboratory environment (qPCr / digital PCR).
  • Minimum 3+ year previous work experience working as an Application Scientist or equivalent position, providing technical support to customers.
  • Minimum of 2 years sales/commercial experience strongly preferred.
  • Is able to identify and solve problems effectively.
  • Comfortable with multi-cultural communication styles.
  • Is able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Has flexibility around schedule and function.
  • Self-directed with strong initiative.
  • Dutch as native language and fluent in English (verbal and writing).
  • Desire to work full time.
  • Positive attitude, team Spirit, flexible, rigorous,  accurate, strong interpersonal skills and good time management.
  • Experience in using Salesforce CRM (preferably “Lightning” edition) and good office skills (minimal: Excel, Word, Powerpoint), PowerBI is a pre.
