About this role

Overview

The QC Technician is responsible to inspects incoming raw materials, electronic, mechanical components as well as manufactured/ OEM products to ensure they meet design specifications before being released to production.  Completes appropriate paperwork necessary for conforming and non-conforming materials.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Ensure the timely execution of routine QC inspection and test activities per established QC procedures.
  • Perform preliminary review on NC material, QC test failures and troubleshoots for possible root cause to facilitate disposition recommendation.
  • Coordinate with internal cross functions, Bio-Rad service depot on physical returned instrument process and perform verification of customer returns.
  • Assist Supervisor in establishing/revising QC Inspection Plan and/ or methodology for new or existing product/ purchased material.
  • Provides technical assistance to more junior QC Technicians.
  • Provides weekly/ monthly reports and metrics and any other task(s), as assigned by QC Supervisor.
  • Participate in in-process audit as per plan and conduct periodic reviews with cross functional process owner(s) for timely closure.
  • Recommend a course of action or risk-based decision for routine QC activities.

  • Minimum Higher NITEC or Diploma in technical discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of QC inspection experience in similar regulated industry within min 2 years as QC team lead is desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic and mechanical drawings.
  • Capable of operating inspection tools and equipment, including the programming of automated test tools.
  • Experience in laboratory activities e.g. use of pipettes.
  • Ability to collect/structure/analyze and communicate data using spreadsheets and dashboards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • ERP system experience required, SAP desirable.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or 13485. ISO 14971 and MDSAP are desirable.
  • Able to communicate effectively, train junior technicians and lead project teams.
