HHF Major Gifts Officer

Overview

You are devoted to inspiring philanthropic partners to invest in medical technology and programs thatadvance Huntsville Hospital’s mission to improve the health of those served. Passion and purposedriven, the Major Gifts Officer reports to the Director of Development and is responsible for meetingannual revenue targets by identifying, engaging, cultivating, and ultimately soliciting major gifts fromdonors, thereby advancing the organizational mission and creating meaningful impact in the lives ofboth donors and beneficiaries of that mission. This team member is creative, innovative, and alwaysexperimenting with ways to engage and nurture employee donors and grow annual contributions.

Qualifications

Education

College degree required from an accredited college or university, preferably with a major inmarketing, communications, public relations or business preferred.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of fundraising experience. Sales, hospitality and/or healthcare experience a plus.

Additional Skills/Abilities

Demonstrated success in building long term philanthropic relationships while also consistently meetingfundraising goals.Data-driven approach to achieve annual fundraising goals.Demonstrated ability to work within a team and achieve overall team success.Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other equivalent CRM system.Expertise in fundraising, development or related field in a non-profit environment.Experience in a medical or academic development setting strongly encouraged.Ability to manage time and task completion effectively and under deadlinesA willingness to work collaboratively to produce fundraising strategies and tacticsFlexibility in hours when occasional projects involve evening and weekend work.
