Position Overview: 

Role Overview  

We are seeking an adept Senior Android Engineer to join our highly dynamic and collaborative user-facing member experience team. Our ideal candidate is passionate, creative, and curious about mobile technology. Candidates must be comfortable with Java, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android Studio, and object-oriented design.  

   

Responsibilities  

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate intricate requirements into scalable, innovative technical solutions.  
  • Seek innovation by exploring and implementing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance product offerings.   
  • Develop expertise with device integration, accessibility, and best-in-class user experiences.  
  • Contribute code reviews and improve team processes.  
  • Work on complex technical challenges within software systems, ensuring robustness, compliance, and customer satisfaction.   
  • Contribute to shaping the technical roadmap, and taking ownership of its success.   

   

Requirements  

  • A B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.  
  • 3+ years of experience building native Android applications in Kotlin and Java, with strong expertise in Jetpack Compose.  
  • Experience with design patterns and architectural patterns such as MVVM, and Clean Architecture.  
  • Proficiency with SOLID principles, dependency injection frameworks (Dagger, Koin), and Android Architecture Components (ViewModel, LiveData, Flow, Room).  
  • Deep knowledge of Android UI development including Material Design guidelines, custom views, layouts, themes, styles, and animations.  
  • Strong experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and networking libraries (Retrofit, OkHttp).  
  • Hands-on experience integrating and working with third-party SDKs and APIs.  
  • Expertise with Android Studio, Gradle build system, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.  
  • Experience with testing frameworks including unit testing (JUnit, Mockito) and UI testing (Compose Testing).  
  • Understanding of performance optimization, memory management, and debugging techniques.  
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.  
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
