About this role
Responsibilities
Works under general supervision in operating overhead intercom systems. Answering and routing incoming calls to the correct department, patient room, or staff member. Initiates urgent medical emergency alerts and codes to dispatch the appropriate response teams. Coordinates patient telephone service. Performs various clerical duties.
Qualifications
- Requires the ability to read and write well enough to type, edit and proof information on a computer; computer skills to perform basic arithmetic for preparation of various reports, and a knowledge of office procedures
- Requires completion of a high school education or the equivalent
- Requires a complete knowledge of office procedures and the ability to deal effectively with a variety of people is essential
- Requires at least six months of office experience
