About this role

Overview

Works under direction of the Chief Athletic Trainer and Director of Physical Therapy in performing duties of providing athletic training services for Henry County Sports Medicine. Provides consultation, assessments, clinical education, inservices, and assists in delivering specific patient treatment. Works closely with the Chief Athletic Trainer, Director of Physical Therapy, the professional Physical Therapy staff, and the orthopedic surgical department in providing appropriate care within the parameters of Certified Athletic Trainer practice standards.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the athletic training services for Henry County Sports Medicine.
  • Assesses and evaluates the appropriate treatment protocols for patients with athletic related injuries.
  • Assists in providing athletic training educational programs with area students, parents, teachers, coaches, and trainers.
  • Provides “on-site” evaluation and assessment of athletic related injuries to area schools based on school needs.

Qualifications

  • Job requires specialized knowledge as to assessment and administration of preventive and treatment aspects of athletic activity related injuries.
  • Must exercise sound judgment in administration of duties.
  • Education requirements are a baccalaureate degree from an institution of higher education that meets academic standards for athletic trainers established by NATA and successful completion of NATA certification.
  • One-year experience as practicing Certified Athletic Trainer preferred.
  • Experience in on-site assessment of athletic injuries preferred.
