About this role

Why we exist:

Swarmer develops software that makes drones autonomous and allows them to operate together, in large, coordinated teams — no pilots needed. Our technology has been battle-tested in Ukraine— the world’s most intense proving ground for drone warfare.

In March 2026, we became the first Ukrainian defense startup to go public on NASDAQ, following a $15M Series A — the largest investment in a Ukrainian defense tech company since the start of the war.

Working at Swarmer means operating at the intersection of engineering rigor and frontline reality. The problems and environments are complex, and the stakes are very real. We built this software to enable democratic nations to defend themselves.

If you are motivated by building resilient systems that matter and by seeing the direct impact of your work, you’ll find purpose here.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Legal Counsel. This role is ideal for a lawyer who is comfortable working in a dynamic international environment and is ready to take ownership of legal matters with a high degree of autonomy.

You will partner closely with colleagues across Legal, Sales, Procurement, HR, Finance, and Operations to help ensure that the company grows in a legally sound, scalable, and business-oriented way.

What you’ll do:

1. Contracts:

  • Support the Sales, Procurement, and other internal teams for day-to-day contractual matters

  • Maintain, improve, and standardize contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal guidance

  • Contribute to legal audits, due diligence exercises, and cross-functional legal projects, including corporate structuring, IP-related matters, and transactional support, under the guidance of the Chief Legal Officer

  • Assist with KYC/AML processes in cooperation with financial institutions, banks, and external counterparties

3. Operational Support

  • Support internal stakeholders on a broad range of day-to-day legal matters

  • Conduct legal research and translate findings into practical recommendations and internal knowledge base materials

  • Support the continuous improvement of legal workflows, documentation standards, and internal processes

What we need:

  • Experience: 3+ years of legal experience, including 2+ years in the IT/Tech sector (Law Firm or In-house)

  • Language: English - Upper Intermediate or higher. Polish/Ukrainian/Estonian is a plus

  • Core expertise: Strong practical experience with commercial contracts and IP matters in a technology business

  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively within a legal team, share knowledge, and coordinate on cross-functional matters

  • Working style: High attention to detail, proactivity, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment

Would be an advantage:

  • Experience with Ukrainian, US, and EU legal systems

  • Understanding of defense tech, dual-use regulations, or other highly regulated industries

  • Experience with data privacy and product compliance, including GDPR, CCPA, or similar frameworks

  • Exposure to legal work in an international growth-stage company

What you’ll get:

  • The opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven company operating in a high-impact and strategically important sector

  • The chance to work alongside a strong legal team on sophisticated international legal matters

  • Competitive salary, benefits package (insurance, paid sick leaves, 20 paid days off per year)

  • A remote-first setup with the option to work from our hubs in Kyiv, Lviv, Tallinn, or Warsaw

  • Professional growth in a company scaling internationally and building strong legal and compliance practices in a public-company environment

How’s the hiring process going:

✔️ Intro Call → ✔️ Interview with Head of Legal → ✔️ Test Task → ✔️ Final interview with CLO → ✔️ Offer
