Responsibilities

The role

You’ll lead the Spun Fiber department day to day. That means balancing safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people—often all at once. You’ll work closely with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, HR, and safety to keep operations steady and improving. Some days it’s planning and coaching. Other days it’s rolling up your sleeves when things go sideways. Either way, you’re accountable for how the department performs.

What you’ll do

  • Run daily operations for the Spun Fiber department, end to end
  • Lead and develop Line Leads, Process Engineers, Maintenance, and production teams
  • Set production schedules for changing demand (and adjust when reality intervenes)
  • Own safety performance, incident investigations, and root cause analysis
  • Make sure equipment, people, and materials are used properly—not wasted
  • Manage budgets, overtime, and spend within agreed limits
  • Drive standard work, SOPs, and continuous improvement
  • Lead lean, cost reduction, quality, and on-time delivery initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, ISO requirements, and environmental standards
  • Partner with HR and Safety on employee relations, performance, and development
  • Take part in plant reviews, base plans, and management reviews

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

  • Experience leading teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • A strong safety mindset—you don’t treat it as a checkbox
  • Comfort managing people, priorities, and pressure at the same time
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities and equipment uptime
  • The ability to look at data, spot patterns, and act on them
  • Clear, direct communication skills (up, down, and sideways)
  • Confidence working across departments and at different leadership levels
  • Solid working knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office

Nice to have

  • A BS in Engineering (ceramic, chemical, mechanical, industrial, polymer/fiber, or similar)
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Prior responsibility for budgets, headcount, or policy deployment
  • Experience in behavior-based safety environments

What you’ll get

  • A visible leadership role with real ownership, not just oversight
  • A stable manufacturing environment with room to improve how things are done
  • Competitive pay, benefits, and support from an experienced operations leadership team
  • The chance to build a team and leave things better than you found them
