Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities: The primary role for this position will be to provide process engineering help to metal casting and forming operations and to assist in brazing operations of finished assemblies.

 

Salary range: 110K - 140K DOE plus a potential 20% bonus 

 

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and work on process improvement for metal casting and breakdown lines. Design of Experiments (DOE) applied to production optimization. Hands-on support working directly with the shop floor team.
  • Monitor quality and yield of material in production lines and work with team to determine root causes of issues and eliminate/reduce. Make data-driven decisions.
  • Design and execute brazing operations.
  • Supervise operators and technicians as needed.
  • Coordinate between R&D, production, supply chain and quality departments.
  • Organize, document, and standardize manufacturing processes, including development of SOPs, process flows, and technical documentation to support consistent production.
  • Perform compositional analysis, mechanical testing of materials, and microstructure analysis, with an emphasis on interpreting results to improve process stability and product quality.
  • Troubleshooting metal processing and manufacturing issues, including defect analysis, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions. Experience with metal alloy forming and processing is strongly preferred.
  • Design experiments (DOE), perform statistical process control (SPC).
  • Advise material forming and synthesis, thermodynamics, strength of materials, mechanical design. Experience in metal alloy forming and processing is a plus.
  • Implementation of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Have the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously and drive timelines

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:

 

• Bachelor’s in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering or related discipline is preferred; candidates with M.S and Ph.D. degrees in similar discipline may apply; compensation and role would be tailored to experience and education level of the candidate.• Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines of multiple simultaneous projects and challenges.• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast paced manufacturing environment, managing multiple priorities, responding to production issues, and meeting tight deadlines.• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non technical audiences, and to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross functional teams.• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills as well as the ability to work and manage time independently.
