MCFS Transporter/Visitation Specialist
About this role
JOB SUMMARY
Main purpose: To transport MCFS dependent children and/or parents to specified location for supervised visitation. Incumbent will supervise and document court ordered parental child visits and give report back to MCFS PAL in a timely manner. Incumbent may transport clients to appointments with outside service providers. Incumbent may supervise visits on-site at Muckleshoot Child and Family Services.
Special Requirements:
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to flex schedule and may be required to work weekends on occasion.
- Must pass MIT criminal background check and drug screen.
- Completion of Washington State Department of Social and Health Services form to complete and pass a criminal background check clearance, which may include fingerprinting.
- Completion of a psychiatric evaluation and assessment test.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- Six (6) months of experience working with families in a crisis situation
- Two (2) years’ experience working with Native American or diverse population
SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION
- Must have the ability to work in high stress environment and multitask on a daily basis.
- Ability to practice safe driving techniques in all driving conditions.
- Ability to make quick and sound decisions in case of emergency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Office equipment operation including: phones, computers, copiers and faxes.
- CPR, BBP, First Aid (or obtain upon 6 months of hire).
- Knowledge of the culture and traditions of the Muckleshoot Tribe; or other Tribes with similar culture and traditions.
- Due to the sensitive nature of the family interaction; must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Meeting deadlines, being prompt and on time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The working conditions described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class. The employee is frequently required to sit and hear, push/pull, use feet to move controls on vehicles, machinery or equipment, and to drive a motor vehicle. The employee is occasionally required to talk, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend while assisting clients in and out of vehicles, reach with hands and arms, grasp with the fingers, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to exhaust fumes, biohazards, and/or communicable diseases. May also occasionally be exposed to excessive noise, vibration, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
