About this role

Responsibilities

OBXtek has an immediate need for a Senior Action Officer to support the USAID Office Senior Procurement Executive/Office of Acquisition and Assistance (OAA).

This individual will serve as a central integrator and coordinator, ensuring leadership priorities are tracked, executed, and advanced in a timely and effective manner.

In addition to serving as a trusted coordinator for executive priorities, the Senior Action Officer will manage OAA’s internal and external communications, including oversight of the OAA Executive Action team. The role requires strong executive skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to operate through informal authority — enabling and supporting division leads rather than directing them. The successful candidate will be seen as a facilitator and trusted partner who strengthens OAA’s collective effectiveness to ensure the advancement of the mission.

Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as a principal action officer for the Senior Procurement Executive (SPE) and OAA senior leadership on organizational priorities, internal coordination, and cross-office initiatives.
    • Track, manage, and drive leadership priorities to closure, ensuring accountability and timely follow-through.
    • Coordinate executive workflows, including task management, decision tracking, and leadership actions.
    • Anticipate leadership and team needs; proactively surface issues, remove barriers, and recommend solutions.
    • Prepare and refine leadership materials (briefings, reports, talking points) that are concise, accurate, and aligned with OAA objectives.
    • Manage OAA’s internal and external communications, ensuring consistent, timely, and accurate messaging across audiences.
    • Lead and oversee the OAA Executive Action team, setting priorities, reviewing outputs, and ensuring alignment with OAA leadership objectives.
    • Facilitate productive meetings among OAA leadership, USAID Offices, and external stakeholders.
    • Understand and translate office data and metrics for leadership decision making.
