About this role
Overview
We are seeking a CT Technologist, sometimes referred to as a Radiologic Technologist II (Rad Tech). As a CT Technologist you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to produce cross-sectional images of patient’s internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process, by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about our patient care.
Employment Type: Full Time
Shifts Available: Varied (Monday (Nights), Thursday and Friday (Days)
Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00pm to 7:30am or 7:00am to 7:30pm (17% diff in pay)
Location: St Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO

Responsibilities
** If you have your ARRT-R and want to cross train into CT, we encourage you to apply. New grads are welcome to apply!**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Prepare patients for their X-ray, CT or MRI scans by explaining the procedures, addressing any concerns or questions, and ensuring that patients are comfortable
- Operate MRI equipment, CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times
- Assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced, you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures
- Adhere to strict safety protocols to protect both patients and you from potential hazards associated with MRI technology, such as strong magnetic fields
- Responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- Radiology/ CT license as required by State
- ARRT-CT Certification is required
- Must possess and maintain BCLS (AHA) upon hire
Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment is required
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required
- Proficient computer skills
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
- One year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferred
