Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability.Every day you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills.. To be successful in this role, you will have an enthusiasm to help others and the ability to work efficiently and provide empathy for our patients.

  • Obtain all required information and prepare the patient prior to the provider entering the treatment room.
  • Keep accurate documentation in the patient's chart pertaining to the appointment or any interaction with a patient within her/his scope of service, (i.e., daily chart preparation for visit, medication refills or response to written order given by the provider or phone messages).
  • Provide support to the medical staff and patients according to policies and procedures.
  • Pre-authorization assistant job duties
  • Obtain and document required information.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
  • High School GED who possesses a certificate to practice as a Medical Assistant
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
