Assistant Coach, Lacrosse, Part-time

Overview

The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach with directing, supervising and implementing the duties and functions of the men's lacrosse program.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent. Preferred

EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrated expertise in men's lacrosse. Required
• Prior coaching experience at the high school or college level. Preferred

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

• Ability to provide instruction, training, and motivation necessary for the athletes to compete to the best of their ability. Required
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required
• Must possess a current driver's license. Required
• Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or willing to acquire. Required
• Developed organizational skills. Required
• Ability to work within the parameters established by the Head Coach and within the responsibilities as defined in the position description. Required

 

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for being thoroughly familiar and complying with all College, United East Conference (UEC) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) policies and procedures.
• Assist in coaching the necessary skills, techniques and physical conditioning sufficient to enable each athlete to compete in the men's lacrosse program safely and to the best of his abilities.
• Be responsible for assisting with the on-site supervision during all practice and game situations.
• Exhibit a high level of expertise in lacrosse; seek self-improvement when possible.
• May be responsible for driving a College vehicle to and from sporting events, as needed.
• Assume Head Coach responsibilities in the short-term absence of the Head Coach.
• Assist in the recruiting of prospective student athletes.
• Assist with Academic meetings, monitoring and study hall hours of student-athletes.
• Assist with community service and leadership development programs.
• Participate in Alumni engagement efforts.
• Work Game Day operations during Fall and winter seasons when not with lacrosse.
