About this role

Overview

Prime, Inc. is looking for a hard-working, positive individual to contribute to the success of Prime by keeping truck and trailer equipment up to the company's high standards. This position will perform inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on tractors and trailers, while also supporting yard operations, tracking fuel and parts usage, and providing excellent customer service to operators. This role includes physical labor and incentive-based tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to our Operators.
  • Inspect all Company Equipment to FMCSA standards.
  • Maintain and update status on all company equipment on the yard.
  • Refuel equipment when requested and when required.
  • Tracks and accounts for all Fuel used.
  • Tracks and accounts for all parts sold or used.
  • Checks the inside of trailers when trailers are empty.
  • Perform all “ Extras “ ( Incentive based items that are required ).
  • Responsible for inspecting and replacing tires that are below Prime specifications.
  • Applicant must be able to lift 105lbs, carry up to 85lbs and push and pull up to 115 lbs

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

     

    Knowledge

    Industrial experience is a plus.

     

    Abilities

    Must have a strong work history and mechanical knowledge. Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends required. 

     

    Experience, Education, and Training

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Physical Requirements

    This position requires constant standing; frequent walking, head turning, stooping, squatting, reaching and grasping. Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 105lbs and also push and pull up to 115lbs.

    Steel toed footwear, and safety glasses are required in the shop.

     

    Interdepartmental Role Fulfillment

    From time to time, it may be necessary for an associate to migrate from his or her permanently stationed department to another department as staffing needs require.   Any time an associate performs tasks in department other than his or her permanently stationed department, the department supervisor shall verify that the associate meets all the job description requirements of the position which that associate interdepartmentally staffs on a temporary or otherwise semi-permanent basis.   

     

    Working Environment

    Both indoor and outdoor working environment with exposure to varying weather conditions and chemical odors.

     

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)PRIME will provide protective equipment (“PPE”) as necessary to its associates in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.132(a). PRIME provides safe working conditions that are fully compliant with all applicable OSHA workplace regulations as it respects an associate’s exposure to chemical, mechanical, or other potential workplace hazards or impairing conditions that could compromise the integrity of the associate’s well-being, to include eyes, extremities, face, head, or respiratory system. PRIME associates must fully adhere to all PRIME PPE policies at all times. Any PRIME associate, who refuses to fully abide by these mandatory PPE policies, and related safety measures, may be subject to the appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination. All required personal protective equipment will be provided by PRIME to each associate at no cost to the associate.

     

    Licensing/Certification

    Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from work.

     

    Miscellaneous Requirements

    Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
