About this Role

Flare Construction, LLC

Flare Construction is seeking skilled and dependable CDL Truck Drivers to join our Civil and Oil & Gas divisions. This position may be filled at Level I, II, or III, depending on qualifications and experience. The CDL Truck Driver operates light and heavy CDL-required vehicles in support of site work, pipeline, and excavation projects — including towing trailers, transporting equipment and materials, and supporting construction operations safely and efficiently. As a CDL Truck Driver, you will play a critical role in keeping our field operations running smoothly by ensuring materials, equipment, and tools reach job sites safely and on time. 

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities 

  • Transport tools, equipment, and construction materials to and from job sites safely and on time. 
  • Inspect, lubricate, and fuel assigned vehicles prior to each shift. 
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs; report any issues to a supervisor. 
  • Operate vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies. 
  • Handle and legally transport materials in compliance with all applicable regulations. 
  • Load, unload, and properly secure materials and equipment. 
  • Maintain driver logs and required documentation per DOT and company policy. 
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and follow all job site safety protocols. 
  • Support project mobilization and demobilization efforts as needed. 
  • Report on-site and prepared at the beginning of each assigned shift. 
  • Work evenings, weekends, or travel out of town as project needs require. 

 

Division-Specific Focus 

Civil Division: Infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and sitework. 

 

What You'll Bring

Qualifications 

CDL Truck Driver I – Entry Level 

  • Minimum 1,000 hours of driving experience. 
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle operation. 
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn procedures. 
  • Performs minor skilled tasks on the project as directed. 
  • Valid Class A CDL license and current medical card required. 
  • OSHA 10 Certification preferred. 

CDL Truck Driver II – Intermediate Level 

  • Minimum 3,000 hours of CDL driving experience. 
  • Proficient in the safe operation of trucks and trailers. 
  • Experience transporting equipment and materials. 
  • Performs skilled or semi-skilled labor on the project as directed. 
  • OSHA 10 Certification required. 
  • Doubles/Triples endorsements preferred. 

CDL Truck Driver III – Advanced Level 

  • Minimum 6,000 hours of CDL driving experience. 
  • Expert in hauling and transporting heavy equipment and materials. 
  • Performs skilled or semi-skilled labor on the project as directed. 
  • Responsible for supervising and mentoring other drivers as needed. 
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle operation, port regulations, and multistate permit transport. 
  • Endorsements required: Doubles, Triples, Hazmat, and Tanker. 
  • Proficient in DOT documentation and safety compliance. 

 

Education & Certifications 

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred. 
  • Licenses: Valid Class A CDL license and current medical card required; clean driving record required. 
  • Certifications: OSHA 10 preferred (required at Level II and above). 
  • Completion of Flare Required Training Matrix. 

 

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements 

  • Work is primarily outdoors in varying weather, terrain, and environmental conditions. 
  • Prolonged operation of light and heavy vehicles is required. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs. 
  • Must have the physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina required for field operations. 
  • Must tolerate exposure to varying weather conditions and typical jobsite noise and odors. 
  • Frequent travel to project sites; locations vary based on project assignment. 
  • Overnight stays may be necessary depending on project location and schedule. 
  • Projects may require weekend or night work, extended hours, and short-notice mobilizations. 
  • PPE required on all job sites. 
  • Must adhere to all company and DOT safety regulations at all times.
