What you'll be doing

As our Staff Software Engineer in the Core Team, you’ll play a defining and strategic role in shaping the backbone of our payment platform, ensuring reliability, consistency, and security for millions of users. Here's what your day-to-day will look like:

• Define Technical Strategy: Define the long-term technical vision for our most critical domains, architecting complex subsystems that balance speed with extreme reliability.

• Architect Core Financial Systems: Design and scale high-throughput engines responsible for the transaction ledger, payment orchestration, and bank integrations.

• Own Identity & Security Infrastructure: Provide the foundational infrastructure for Identity and Access Management (IAM), building the layers that secure our users.

• Engineer Risk & Fraud Solutions: Develop and optimize sophisticated services for credit risk management and real-time fraud detection to protect the ecosystem.

• Technical Thought Leadership: Actively define requirements alongside Product Managers and stakeholders, translating high-level objectives into verifiable technical specifications.

• Develop Talent: Mentor the next generation of engineers, fostering a culture of precision and driving the adoption of AI-powered tools to enhance development efficiency.

Who we're looking for

We need a visionary problem-solver who excels in cross-team collaboration and possesses deep technical expertise. Does this sound like you?

• Extensive Experience: You have at least 7 years of related experience in back-end software engineering, with a track record of architecting microservices for millions of users.

• Tech Expertise: You possess deep experience with Java and a strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS is a plus), capable of handling complex technical challenges.

• Strategic Communication: You communicate in a structured and convincing manner, building trust and alignment with various stakeholders across the organization.

• Thought Leadership: You have a proven ability to identify emerging technology trends and capitalize on them to generate high-impact technical solutions.

• Language proficiency: You are passionate about FinTech or startup environments and fluent in English.

Initial salary: Starting from €64,000 gross per annum
This baseline is set using objective, gender-neutral criteria for the role's core requirements. However, we do not believe in putting a ceiling on talent. The final compensation package is tailored according to your unique experience and expertise.
