About this role

AI is transforming how every company operates, but most enterprises are stuck. They want to move fast with AI agents, tools, and workflows, but they can't do it safely. We're fixing that.

Our team built AI Actions for OpenAI, shipped Zapier Agents to millions of users, and launched the first remote MCP server with Anthropic. The co-creator of MCP is on our cap table. We helped establish the protocol, and now we're building the platform enterprises need to actually use it.

Runlayer is one platform for MCPs, Skills, and Agents. Purpose-built security, fine-grained governance, and complete observability so organizations can push AI forward across the entire company without the risk. We raised $11M from Khosla Ventures and Felicis, and customers include Gusto, Instacart, and Opendoor.

We’re hiring sales hires to drive new business at Runlayer. Your mission is simple but ambitious: get us in the room with the right people at the right time. You’ll source meetings, build relationships, and close early deals that shape how enterprises adopt AI.

What You’ll Do

  • Source and qualify meetings with senior leaders at Fortune 500 and high-growth enterprises. You’ll build pipeline through outbound prospecting, events, and creative hustle.

  • Run early-stage deals. Manage the full sales cycle from first touch to signed contract, collaborating with the founders and engineers to close.

  • Craft and refine our pitch. You’ll quickly learn what resonates with prospects and help evolve our story in real time.

  • Build a repeatable motion. Document and systematize outreach strategies, helping lay the foundation for a world-class go-to-market engine.

  • Be the face of Runlayer. Represent us at events, conferences, and customer meetings in NYC, SF and beyond.

What We’re Looking For

  • Hunter mentality. You thrive on outbound prospecting and love the chase of getting into new accounts.

  • Early-career sales experience. 4+ years of experience in outbound sales, BDR/SDR, or AE roles at high-growth SaaS or infra companies.

  • Proven track record. Consistent quota overachievement with recognition such as President’s Club or equivalent top-performer awards.

  • Fearless communicator. Excellent written and verbal communication skills—you can craft crisp emails and deliver compelling pitches.

  • Hustle and persistence. Comfortable sending the 5th follow-up, picking up the phone, and finding a way to make contact.

  • Learning mindset. You’re hungry to understand enterprise AI and willing to dive deep into both technical and business conversations.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience selling developer tools, infrastructure, or security products.

  • Existing network in enterprise IT, security, or AI at enterprises.

  • Track record of closing six-figure deals at an early stage.

  • Expert-level in using AI tools for prospecting and outreach.
