About this role
Overview
- Tier One Technologies is seeking a Mainframe Support Operator/Administrator to work with our US Government client.
- This will be a 100% remote Contract-to-Hire position.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting a large mainframe payroll application.
- Operate, monitor, and assist in the maintenance and integrity of the mainframe, peripherals, servers, and network. ย
- Participate in Disaster Recovery and provided first level help desk support.
- Able to adapt to various operational duties in customized data centers.
- Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
- Perform systems security administration functions.
- Other duties may include maintaining system documentation, system performance, and installing system wide software.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Interact with users.
Qualifications
- Prior relevant experience in the IBM mainframe environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizenship).
- Ability to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance.
- Must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years.
- Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
