The Lead HVAC Mechanic is responsible for carrying out all the duties and responsibilities of an HVAC mechanic at the Master level.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees a staff of HVAC personnel and assists with refrigeration and AC compressor replacement, troubleshooting A/C systems, maintenance and repairs related to HVAC equipment.• Responsible for execution, planning, scheduling, ordering parts and inspection of work that is performed on all Pneumatic and DC Controls, Refrigeration and HVAC equipment outlined in the statement of work.• install, maintain, repair, adjust and clean all HVAC and associated equipment and systems.• Must be well versed in the use of many and varied types of test equipment such as volt-meters, ammeters, amprobes, psychrometers, capacitor analyzer temperature testers, leak detectors, micrometer, CO2 testers, vacuum gauges, meggers and must possess outstanding eye-hand coordination.• Inspects completed work for conformance to standards.• Possess excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.• Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults with HVAC systems.• Other duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:

 

• Must have a minimum of six (6) years’ experience working in large Commercial Facilities/ Operation and Maintenance Arena.• A Master HVAC License is required.• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.• Maximo CMMS Experience a plus, but not required.• Microsoft Computer skills (Office, Word, Outlook etc.) a plus but not required.• Thorough knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of all HVAC systems and equipment in the building.REASONABLE ACCOMODATIONS:

This position requires the ability to maneuver around the building site; see, hear and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Performance of essential and ancillary functions requires maintenance of physical conditioning adequate for sitting, walking or standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, squatting, stretching, bending for prolonged periods of time; at time lift and carry up to as much as 60 pounds, near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech with background noise.In performing the required work, it is required to have the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, do a lot of walking, use every kind of hand tool, work in hazardous positions, carry heavy tools.TRAVEL:

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

 

DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

 

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
