About this role

Overview

Shear operator calculates how best to arrange material so there is very little waste.

Responsibilities

REPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use AX as trained to find and pull material for orders
  • Cut order per router instructions
  • Follow set guideline for proper inspection of material and cut size, grain direction, batch number.       
  • Tag material with shop order number and count using proper color code tags.   
  • Stage material for shipping using proper shipping guidelines by material type.
  • Able to identify the most critical jobs and then completes them in a timely manner.
  • Keep work areas clean.                                                                                  
  • Use proper lifting equipment when handling material, ask for help when needed.
  • Know your equipment , maintain set check areas                                         
  • Update AX lot notes with all material changes.  
  • Do job cards for all material used.   

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic computer skills, read written directions, take verbal instructions, able to use measuring devices, and basic math skills.
  • Forklift experience
  • Good Attendance

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
