About this role

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented and experienced Ground Segment Engineer to help us in our mission by working on the ground segment for our Future Projects. You will be part of the Lunar Lander team, reporting to the Principal Engineer of the project and working closely with the other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as a Ground Segment Engineer, your role will continuously evolve, but initially your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Own the ground segment for the project

    • Define the architecture of the ground segment

    • Design and develop ground segment HW and SW tools

    • Ensure reliability through rigorous automated and manual testing

    • Document the ground segment tools

    • Procure all related HW and means for the ground segment

    • Validate the ground segment performances

  • Partner with testing and operations teams to understand and meet needs

  • Support test procedures definition

  • Support test operations

What we would love to see from you

In the role of Ground Segment Engineer ideally, you will have the following:

  • 3+ years of experience in ground segment development for aerospace projects

  • Experience with development and testing of user-facing software applications

  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language like C#, Java, or similar

  • Familiarity with aerospace telecommunication standards

  • Knowledge of backup systems, storage management, and recovery procedures

  • Experience with hardware integration and RF systems

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, networking, and application layers

  • Fluent in English, knowledge of Arabic is an asset
