Position SummaryThe Assistant Banquet Chef works closely with the Executive Chef and Banquet Chef to oversee banquet food production, execution, preparation, and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, team-oriented, and capable of performing in a fast-paced private club environment while maintaining high culinary standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and execution of banquet and event menus • Support culinary operations for weddings, tournaments, member events, holiday buffets, and club functions • Ensure quality, consistency, presentation, and proper timing of all banquet food production • Supervise and assist banquet culinary staff during prep and service • Help maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation throughout banquet kitchen operations • Collaborate with culinary leadership on menu development, seasonal offerings, and event planning • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and product rotation • Maintain proper food handling, storage, and safety procedures • Support daily production needs across club dining operations when necessary • Foster a positive and professional kitchen culture focused on teamwork and accountability

Qualifications

-• 2+ years of culinary leadership or banquet kitchen experience preferred • Private club, hotel, resort, catering, or upscale banquet experience strongly preferred • Strong understanding of banquet production and large-scale event execution • Ability to lead by example in a high-energy kitchen environment • Strong organizational and time-management skills • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and club events • Passion for hospitality, creativity, and continuous improvement • Culinary degree or formal culinary training is a plus
