Education Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.  

 

Clearance Requirements:

Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

In this role as a Reverse Engineer with the Intelligence Systems, you'll work directly with customers to set priorities and run regression tests on our hardware, including vehicle telematics systems and onboard vehicle communication platforms. A key part of your day-to-day will be finding, troubleshooting, and debugging software issues across vehicle telematics hardware and in-vehicle communication interfaces, and then clearly explaining your findings to the engineering team. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining clear documentation for our test procedures and are encouraged to find and suggest better ways of doing things.

This position is a great fit if you have hands-on experience with the Linux command line, have used tools like Wireshark to analyze network traffic and vehicle telematics data, and have a solid grasp of networking and data bus protocols; penetration testing experience is a plus. We also value a working knowledge of practices from hands-on trades, especially if you have an interest in developing innovative solutions to unique problems. Ideal candidates will have high attention to detail, the flexibility to thrive in a dynamic environment, and the ability to work effectively under general supervision, alone, or with a team.

 

With your proficiency in grasping and applying new information quickly, the Advanced Reverse Engineer will analyze, decompose, disassemble code, perform static code analysis, kernel-level debugging, and debug and modify software. Programming in both C and assembly language, we’ll rely on you to be involved in Protocol Analysis, Vulnerability Assessment, Security Research, Rapid Prototyping of proof of concept capabilities. You’ll conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing utilizing reverse engineering techniques. You’ll also contribute to the design, development and implementation of countermeasures, system integration, and tools specific to Cyber and Information Operations.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Fully proficient knowledge of operating system fundamentals (interrupts, threading, virtual memory, device drivers) and internals (memory layouts and management, binary file formats)
  • Fully proficient knowledge in low-level programming of device drivers in a Unix, Linux, or Windows environment

Workplace Options:

This position is fully at customer site due to the nature of program work and facility infrastructure.  Work will be performed at restricted location (around Quantico, VA).  No remote option

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $147,342.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
