About this role

Overview

The starting range for this position is $17.90 per hour depending and is non-negotiable.

 

Under general supervision, the incumbent is expected to carry out research focusing on developing and testing novel catalysts for catalytic degradation of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in water. The specific tasks include, but not limited to, preparation, characterization and testing of novel catalysts that can effectively catalyze degradation of PFAS, analyzing and interpreting experimental data, and publishing the results in reputable journals.

 

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities 95%:

  • Prepare and test the desired catalysts,
  • Design and conduct lab experiments,
  • Analyze the experimental data,
  • Prepare project reports,
  • Publish results in quality journals,
  • Attend regular group meetings and assure adequate research progress

Other Duties as Assigned 5%

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Equivalent to graduation from a four year university

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Two years of experience in technical research or statistical work experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical/environmental engineering, or related disciplines, Knowledge on catalyst preparation and testing, Experience in experiments on sorption/desorption, catalysis, and redox processes, Knowledge with related analytical instruments, and Good English writing skills.
