Responsible for working within the established guidelines of the Laboratory Department as assigned.  As a professional, the MT is responsible for carrying out the philosophy and objectives defined by regulatory requirements and hospital standard operating procedures. Foremost among these responsibilities are strictly adhering to detail in the technical performance of laboratory procedures, solving practical and analytical problems, resolving conflict, and implementing constructive change.Â

Responsibilities
- Performs testing and test procedures according to established policies and guidelinesÂ
- Interprets quality control results and instrument functionÂ
- Completes scheduled preventive maintenance duties Â
- Provides assistance and guidance involving repairs, validations, and function checks and works with vendors as appropriateÂ
- Collects blood specimens, etc. from laboratory outpatientsÂ
- Assists and completes investigations involving unexpected or adverse outcomes and keeps documentation according to regulatory guidelinesÂ
Qualifications
Education:Â Â
- Bachelor’s degree with major in Medical Technology or related science required. Â
Experience:Â Â
- Less than one year.Â
License(s)/Certification(s):Â Â
- Certified as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by Board of Registry of ASCP or equivalent due upon hire or within one (1) year from date of hire required. Â
