Overview

Shift: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

This position will be working in the Galesburg area

Join the Robert Young Center as a Mental Health Professional and make a meaningful impact in the lives of youth and families. In this role, you will provide state-funded case management services using a Trauma Informed Care approach, supporting youth with severe emotional disturbances while promoting stability and community-based care. Working under the supervision of a Licensed or Qualified Mental Health Professional, you will conduct assessments, coordinate treatment plans, collaborate with care teams, and provide crisis intervention while ensuring accurate documentation and compassionate, client-centered support.

Responsibilities

  • Provides case management services, including assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing support for clients with behavioral health needs
  • Conducts diagnostic assessments and develops individualized treatment plans
  • Coordinates care and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including providers, social workers, and nursing staff
  • Delivers counseling, crisis intervention, and community-based support to clients and families
  • Monitors client progress and adjusts treatment plans based on clinical findings
  • Maintains accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

Education:

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of five years documented clinical experience in mental health or human services; OR
  • An individual possessing a certificate of psychiatric rehabilitation from a DHS-approved program, plus a high school diploma or GED, plus two years' documented experience in provided mental health services; OR
  • An individual possessing a bachelor's degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, education, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, family therapy, or a related human service field.

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • (CPI) training within 6 months of hire.
  • Obtain certification within 2 months of hire and re-certify annually according to the requirements set forth in the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services related to the  Illinois Medicaid Comprehensive Needs & Strengths (IM+CANS)
