Responsibilities

• Delivers accurately the prescribed, planned course of radiation therapy
• Appropriately prepares the room and equipment for patient treatments and transfers patients safely
• Consistently utilizes a holistic approach (considers physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served.
• Maintains a clean, safe and orderly environment demonstrating the practices of infection control principles
• CT Simulations are arranged per doctors’ orders and patients are immobilized for their radiation treatments appropriately
• Administer tattoos for marking of setups
• Performs tumor localization; makes changes/adjustments to ports as required by physicians via manual or electronic methods

Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate from an ARRT Accredited school of Radiation Therapy

Experience:

• 1 year of clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist is preferred

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) is required
• IA Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care is required
• IL Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care is required
• IA Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care is required
• IL Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care is required
• Must obtain the following licensure upon hire:
  • Licensed as Radiation Therapist in the state(s) of practice
  • Registered Radiation Therapist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
