About Customuse

Customuse is an AI creative engine for image, video, and 3D, used by millions of creators and teams to make high-quality digital content faster.

We are backed by Adjacent, Connect Ventures and angels/operators from companies including Snap, Stripe, and SpaceX.

About The Role

We are hiring a Technical Artist, 3D to help build the asset generation pipelines behind Customuse.

You will sit between art, engineering, product, and partner studios. Your work will help us generate, rig, optimize, convert, and deliver 3D assets reliably at scale, while turning feedback from major game studios into better tools and workflows.

This is a hands-on production and pipeline role for someone who understands how 3D assets actually move through real creative teams. We work with large AAA game studios, so the right person will get to work on ambitious partner workflows, hard production constraints, and tools that can shape how professional teams create content with AI.

What You Will Do

  • Build and improve 3D asset generation pipelines for characters, props, wearables, environments, and game-ready content.

  • Work on rigging, character setup, skeletons, skinning, blend shapes, retargeting, and asset validation workflows.

  • Optimize 3D assets for quality, performance, file size, platform compatibility, and downstream use in games and creator tools.

  • Create Blender-based tools, scripts, exporters, validators, and automation workflows.

  • Use Python to accelerate repetitive 3D production tasks and make pipelines more reliable.

  • Implement feedback from partner studios and turn recurring production issues into scalable product improvements.

  • Collaborate with 3D engineers, AI engineers, product, and design to make advanced asset workflows feel simple.

  • Help define internal standards for generated assets, naming, materials, topology, LODs, UVs, textures, rigs, and delivery formats.

Who You Are

  • You have strong Blender experience and understand production-grade 3D asset workflows.

  • You are comfortable writing Python for tools, automation, pipeline scripting, or technical art workflows.

  • You understand character and asset pipelines, including rigging, mesh cleanup, materials, textures, UVs, export formats, and optimization.

  • You can move between creative judgment and technical problem-solving without losing sight of either.

  • You care about asset quality, performance, compatibility, and artist experience.

  • You are comfortable working with feedback from external studios and turning messy requirements into practical improvements.

  • You are excited by AI-powered 3D tools, game pipelines, creator platforms, and the future of asset generation.

Bonus Points

  • Unreal Engine experience.

  • Experience with Unity, Houdini, Maya, Substance, USD, glTF, FBX, or game-engine import/export pipelines.

  • Experience working with AAA game studios, external partners, outsourcing teams, or production art pipelines.

  • Experience building procedural, AI-assisted, or automated asset generation workflows.

  • Experience with avatars, UGC platforms, Roblox, Fortnite/UEFN, character customization, or marketplace assets.

What Good Looks Like

  • You can turn partner studio feedback into specific pipeline improvements.

  • You can build Blender and Python tools that save artists and engineers real time.

  • You can spot why an asset breaks in production and fix the root cause.

  • You can help generated 3D assets become cleaner, lighter, better-rigged, and easier to use.

  • You can work across art and engineering without getting stuck in either language.

How To Apply

Send your LinkedIn, portfolio or reel, and 2-3 examples of technical art, pipeline, rigging, optimization, or 3D tooling work you are proud of.

We care more about practical 3D taste, pipeline judgment, and technical execution than formal credentials.
