Experienced Pelvic Health Therapist – Old Town Alexandria - $5,000 sign on bonus!

 

VHC Health Rehabilitation is expanding with a beautiful new outpatient clinic in Old Town Alexandria.  We are looking for an experienced pelvic health therapist to work in close proximity to VHC Health’s largest OBGYN practice and collaboratively with our team of 10 therapists who specialize in pelvic health.   This dynamic team treats a variety of diagnoses including incontinence, pelvic pain, organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction, ante and post-partum issues, and gender affirming procedures.  This team meets regularly for educational rounds and brings valuable continuing education courses to our clinic to ensure the highest level of care for our patients.

Job Description

Physical Therapist

Purpose & Scope:

“An individual physical therapist’s scope of practice is influenced by professional, jurisdictional, and personal scopes of practice.Over the course of the physical therapist’s career, scope of practice evolves based on considerations including, but not limited to, societal needs; progressive professional development activities of the physical therapist; modifications to jurisdictional laws and regulations; advancements in knowledge, research, clinical skills, and technology; and the evolving health delivery system.The professional scope of physical therapist practice is grounded in basic, behavioral, and clinical sciences. It is supported by education, based on a body of evidence, and linked to existing and emerging practice frameworks. The professional scope of practice evolves in response to innovation, research, collaboration, and changes in societal needs.The professional scope of practice consists of patient and client management, which includes diagnosis and prognosis, to optimize physical function, movement, performance, health, quality of life, and well-being across the lifespan. Education:

Bachelor's degree in physical therapy is required.

Master's degree or doctorate in physical therapy is preferred.

Experience:

One year of experience in physical therapy is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.

BLS certification is required.

Occupational Therapist

Purpose & Scope:

“Occupational therapy is defined as the therapeutic use of everyday life activities (occupations) with individuals or groups for the purpose of enhancing or enabling participation in roles, habits, and routines in home, school, workplace, community, and other settings. Occupational therapy practitioners use their knowledge of the transactional relationship among the person, his or her engagement in valuable occupations, and the context to design occupation-based intervention plans that facilitate change or growth in client factors (body functions, body structures, values, beliefs, and spirituality) and skills (motor, process, and social interaction) needed for successful participation. Education:
