Job Description

The Senior HR Advisor is responsible for delivering high‑quality support across the full employee lifecycle. This hands-on role combines both Soft and HR tasks; examples include but not limited to recruitment, health and safety compliance, administrative processes, HR paperwork, employee onboarding/offboarding etc. The Senior HR advisor will report into the HR manager and act as a trusted backup when the HR manager is out of office. The team consists of an HR manager, an HR officer and a junior HR officer. 

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

 Recruitment & Selection

  • Partake in recruitment activities. From drafting job descriptions, posting vacancies, screening CVs, conducting interviews, creating contracts and coordinating with hiring managers.
  • Maintain candidate pipelines and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Coordinate onboarding logistics for new hires (contracts, welcome materials, IT setup, first‑day planning).

 Health & Safety

  • Support the internal prevention advisor with compliance with Belgian health & safety legislation. 
  • Organize periodic medical examinations and follow up on recommendations from the occupational health service.
  • Act as the main point of contact with the external provider.
  • Conduct workplace safety checks and support risk assessments.
  • Maintain incident logs and support prevention initiatives.
  • Deal with different vendors for safety equipment needed by employees.

HR Administration

  • Process subsidy applications and reimbursements. 
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure GDPR‑compliant data handling.
  • Draft employment contracts, create policies and trainings, etc.

 Employee Lifecycle Support

  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes. This includes and not limited to exit interviews, updating internal systems etc.
  • Act as a backup to the HR manager to support employees with HR‑related questions and ensure timely communication.
  • Assist in drafting policies, translations, procedures, and internal communications.
  • Assist in learning and development initiatives.
  • Contribute to employee well‑being initiatives and engagement activities. 
  • Support with the management and resolutions of complex employee relations cases end-to-end, including grievances, performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and coach to People Leaders, equipping them with the tools and skills to handle day-to-day people management effectively.
  • Interpret, develop, and implement HR policies in strict alignment with current labour legislation and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Master’s degree in Business Management or Human Resources.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on HR generalist or HR advisory experience, ideally within Belgium.
  • Strong understanding of Belgian employment legislation, social security, and collective labour agreements.
  • Fluent Communication skills in English and Dutch.
  • High attention to detail with experience managing confidential HR data in a GDPR‑compliant manner.
  • Ability to guide and support People Leaders on HR processes, performance management, and employee wellbeing.
  • Experience drafting policies, procedures, and internal HR documentation.

Additional Information

  • A full-time (40hours/week) Monday – Friday job.
  • A Permanent contract with flexible working hours. 60% telework and 40% office day per week. This depends on business needs
