Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will join Derby team to support our activities within the Nuclear sector. 

You will support design activities using Siemens NX and Teamcenter, contributing to the creation, management, and release of mechanical design data in a highly regulated engineering environment. This role offers the opportunity to develop hands-on experience working alongside senior engineers on complex, high-integrity systems.

  • Location: Derby 
  • On Site: 2 times per week 
  • Clearance: BPSS 
  • Experience Level: 1- 5 YOE 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and modify 3D models and engineering drawings using Siemens NX
  • Manage design data, revisions, and configuration control within Teamcenter
  • Support mechanical design development under guidance from senior engineers
  • Assist with preparation of technical documentation and design deliverables
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure design integration
  • Follow quality and configuration management processes in a regulated environment

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Practical experience using Siemens NX
  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter PLM
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Strong attention to detail and configuration discipline
  • Ability to work within structured engineering processes

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in nuclear, power generation, or other safety-critical industries
  • Knowledge of ONR safety principles, INPO guidance, or similar regulatory frameworks
