Zapier is hiring a General Counsel to lead the company’s global legal function and serve as a member of the executive team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for shaping legal strategy, building a high-performing distributed team, and enabling the business to scale quickly while managing risk thoughtfully.

Reporting into the executive leadership structure, the General Counsel will oversee the full spectrum of legal matters across product, commercial, privacy, governance, employment, and strategic transactions. You will act as a strategic business partner, translating company priorities into practical legal frameworks that support growth, innovation, and trust.

A core focus of the role is guiding Zapier through the evolving AI and regulatory landscape. You will lead legal strategy for AI-powered products, develop frameworks around transparency and responsible use, and help the company navigate emerging global standards. This role also oversees enterprise commercial agreements, strategic partnerships, privacy compliance, and cross-border legal matters in a globally distributed operating model.

You will serve as corporate secretary to the Board, lead governance and subsidiary management matters, and advise on capital structure, equity programs, financings, and M&A activity. Internally, you will continue building an AI-enabled legal function through scalable processes, automation, metrics, and modern operating systems.

The ideal candidate brings significant in-house leadership experience within a high-growth technology company, with deep expertise spanning product law, commercial transactions, privacy, governance, and strategic decision-making. You are practical, business-minded, comfortable with ambiguity, and capable of balancing speed with sound judgment in a rapidly changing environment.
