About this role
GoMaterials is one of Canada's fastest-growing companies, recognized by Deloitte, the Globe & Mail, and the Lazaridis Scaleup Program. We’re revolutionizing how landscape contractors source plant and hardscape materials through a B2B marketplace that simplifies procurement in a traditionally outdated industry.
Since our inception, we have helped landscapers save time, money, and stress and plant over 1.5 million plants and trees. Led by a young and eager group of entrepreneurs, GoMaterials is aggressively expanding across North America. We are therefore looking for amazing people to add to our team!
About the role:
As a Buyer, you'll own the full procurement cycle — from executing orders and negotiating with suppliers to spotting issues before they reach the customer. You'll work independently, move fast, and bring both precision and problem-solving to everything you do.
What you'll do:
Execute orders end-to-end with full accountability for quality, speed, fill rate, communication, and price
Negotiate supplier terms and apply value engineering to maximize order profitability
Catch procurement issues early, escalate with context, and follow through on resolution
Manage a high-volume workload across competing priorities without dropping the ball
Collaborate with your team lead and senior buyers, stepping in where the team needs you
Follow established processes — and flag improvements when you see them
What you'll bring:
2–4 years in procurement, operations, or supply chain
Track record of executing POs independently with strong attention to detail
Confident negotiator who builds lasting supplier relationships
Calm under pressure — you solve first, escalate when it counts
Strong prioritization skills across multiple simultaneous orders
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
English fluency required
Bonus points for:
Startup or high-growth environment experience
Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field
Familiarity with GSE or similar procurement platforms
Exposure to value engineering or cost optimization
ERP or procurement system experience
Background in landscaping, horticulture, or wholesale
