About this role

Hi there! We're Alma 👋

We're on a mission to make immigration more accessible, transparent, and human—through cutting-edge technology and thoughtful legal support.

We're hiring an Immigration Case Specialist to be the operational backbone of our legal team. This is the person who makes sure every case packet is correct, complete, and out the door on time. It's a great fit for someone who takes real pride in getting details exactly right and keeping things running like clockwork.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role based in our Palo Alto office. If precision and follow-through are things you're genuinely good at and enjoy, you'll do well here.

What you'll do

  • Print, assemble, quality-check, and ship physical case packets with zero errors—this is the heart of the job.

  • Track filings, deadlines, and RFE (Request for Evidence) due dates so nothing slips.

  • Perform accurate data entry and keep case files complete and up to date.

  • Review packets against checklists to catch missing documents or errors before they go out.

  • Keep our document organization and filing systems orderly and reliable.

  • Handle the day-to-day administrative tasks that keep legal operations moving.

You'll thrive here if you

  • Take genuine satisfaction in accurate, repeatable work done right every time.

  • Have a sharp eye for detail and rarely let things slip through the cracks.

  • Are dependable—people trust you to follow through without being chased.

  • Stay organized when juggling multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.

  • Are comfortable with the physical, hands-on nature of printing, assembling, and shipping daily.

  • Can be onsite in Palo Alto 5 days a week. (Given the physical filing work, this role can't be remote or hybrid.)

This might not be the right fit if you

  • Are mainly looking for a stepping stone and would lose interest in the core filing/shipping work quickly.

  • Prefer a strategy- or analysis-heavy role over hands-on execution.

  • Want a fully predictable, slow-moving environment—we're a startup and things change.

  • Need remote or hybrid flexibility.

Growth

There's a real path from this role into paralegal work for people who excel and want it. But we're looking for someone who'd be happy and motivated even if this role stayed as-is for a good while—because doing this job excellently is what matters most to us.

Compensation & benefits

  • $55,000–$70,000, depending on experience

  • Health insurance

  • $250 per month wellness allowance

  • Mentorship from legal, tech, and business leaders

  • A collaborative, low-ego team that cares about the mission and each other

A quick note

You don't need to check every box. If this excites you and you're great with details, we'd love to hear from you. No immigration experience required—we'll train you.
