Garage is building the platform that powers commerce across America's essential industries. We started by serving fire departments, where buying mission-critical vehicles and equipment used to take months of paperwork, phone calls, and waiting. We automate the entire transaction: payments, freight, paperwork, warranty, and financing. Months become minutes.

In under a year, we now serve local governments across all 50 states and have grown revenue >10x. We recently closed a $13.5M Series A ($18M total raised) from Infinity Ventures, Y Combinator, Initialized Capital, FJ Labs, and other top investors. We're early, we're moving fast, and we're just getting started.

About the role

You’ll join a small team working directly with the founders on a platform with real-world impact. We obsess over user experience and ship products end-to-end. As a software engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact, shaping product strategy and building systems that move real equipment and vehicles across the country.

In this role, you will:

• Build and own core systems across our marketplace and transaction stack

• Automate complex workflows spanning payments, logistics, compliance, and financing

• Design APIs, data models, and services that move real assets at scale

• Work closely with product and operations to ship quickly and reliably

Qualifications

You have 2+ years of full-time software engineering experience. Strong programming skills, especially in TypeScript. You have strong product and systems thinking with a bias toward simple, reliable solutions. You are excitement about building software with real-world impact.

• We’ve grown revenue over 10x in the last year and are well capitalized after a recent $13.5M Series A ($18M in funding raised total).

• Our product is something people use everyday to buy the equipment local communities everywhere depend on.

• We have a talent-dense, high-performance team where everyone joining now has an outsized impact.

• What we’ve built works. We’re backed by world-class vendors: Y Combinator, Infinity Ventures, Initialized Capital, FJ Labs, and more.

• You’ll be one of our first 35 employees, operating as a foundational member of the team, partnering alongside the company’s founders.

The base salary for this role is $150,000 to $220,000 USD. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
