About this role

Introducing Moonlake, AI for creating world simulations.

About Moonlake

Moonlake is building the frontier of interactive world models: systems that generate, simulate, and reason over 3D environments for embodied AI, robotics and gaming. We develop the simulation infrastructure to build worlds (e.g., assets, scenes, digital twins) at scale.

Our team sits at the intersection of:

  • Embodied AI

  • Robotics simulation

  • Interactive 3D worlds

  • World models

  • Real-time generation

  • AI infrastructure

Moonlake is building the next generation of AI infrastructure for interactive digital worlds. Our mission is to enable anyone to create, simulate, and interact with rich environments using natural language and multimodal inputs, turning simple ideas into worlds with structure, logic, and agents that can perceive and act.

Our team has raised $28M in seed funding from NVIDIA Ventures, Threshold Ventures, AIX ventures and notable angels including Naval Ravikant and Jeff Dean to build the foundational layer for the future of AI - powering everything from creative tools and games to robotics training, simulations, and digital twins. Our goal is to make building and experimenting with these environments as accessible and scalable as publishing video on the internet.

The Role

We’re looking for a Technical Artist / 3D Generalist who can create high-quality, realistic 3D assets and environments primarily in Blender.

This person will help build the visual and structural foundation for interactive AI-generated worlds: objects, scenes, environments, physicalized assets, and production-ready 3D content. The ideal candidate is both artistic and technical: someone who can model, texture, render, iterate quickly, and understand how 3D assets behave inside interactive environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Create realistic 3D models, props, environments, and articulated assets in Blender

  • Build assets that are not just visually strong, but usable in interactive worlds

  • Own end-to-end 3D workflows: modeling, texturing, materials, lighting, rendering, optimization, and scene polish

  • Help create environments that support physics, interaction, gameplay, simulation, and embodied AI workflows

  • Work closely with research and engineering teams building world models, real-time video models, and multimodal 3D systems

  • Translate abstract prompts or product needs into clean, usable, production-quality 3D assets

  • Improve visual quality, realism, and consistency across generated or hand-authored 3D worlds

What We’re Looking For

  • Deep proficiency with Blender

  • Strong 3D modeling skills across hard-surface, environment, and object creation

  • Ability to create realistic renders

  • Strong understanding of materials, lighting, geometry, topology, and scene composition

  • Comfort working across the full 3D pipeline, preferably mostly or entirely inside Blender

  • Technical mindset: you understand how assets are used in engines, simulations, games, or interactive environments

  • Fast iteration speed and high visual taste

  • Strong portfolio showing polished 3D work

Bonus Points

  • Background in games, simulation, robotics, virtual worlds, or interactive media

  • Experience with game engines or real-time 3D workflows

  • Familiarity with physics-ready assets, rigging, articulation, collision, or procedural workflows

  • Experience creating 3D content for AI, synthetic data, RL environments, or world-modeling systems

  • Ability to work with tools beyond Blender, while still being strongest in Blender

Why This Role Matters

Moonlake is not just generating static 3D assets. The company is building systems that create interactive, multimodal worlds where geometry, physics, affordances, symbolic logic, visuals, and audio all remain coherent together. (moonlakeai.com)

You’ll help define the visual and technical quality bar for the worlds Moonlake creates.

We are committed to being an on-site, in-person team currently based in San Francisco.
