Each year, PPCCC provides 28,000 people on the central coast with health care services; including sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, birth control, breast and cervical cancer screenings, vasectomies, and safe and legal abortion care at our six health center locations. PPCCC also provides comprehensive sexuality education programs to help adults and teens make healthy decisions, prevent unintended pregnancies, and avoid sexually transmitted infection.   JOB SUMMARY: The Philanthropy Officer is responsible for inspiring, broadening and deepening the support of individual donors to Planned Parenthood California Central Cost. S/he/they executes the strategy and management of an assigned portfolio with the responsibility of maximizing unrestricted and restricted major gift funds raised annually and for longer-term efforts, such as capital, special gifts and endowment campaigns. S/he/they is an articulate spokesperson for PPCCC and its programs and priorities in the philanthropic community.  The Major Gifts Officer reports to the Director of Philanthropy.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: -Establish long term goals and annual objectives for a major gift and planned giving portfolio of individuals in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy; conduct regular and ongoing portfolio analysis, communicate outcomes and challenges, suggest portfolio adjustments as needed, and project results as needed for reports and planning. -Keep detailed record of interactive history for all donor contacts in Raiser’s Edge; maintain information and tracking system, which helps determine the philanthropic interests, motivations, ability to give, and readiness of donors and prospects to make donations. -Establish a strong pipeline for the Major and Mid-level Gifts portfolio by: (a) implementing an effective system for identifying, qualifying, and cultivating individuals with interest and capacity; (b) developing and implementing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for midlevel program donors who have the capacity to transition to the major gifts program; (c) working with development team members to identify appropriate prospects. -Support all aspects of the Annual Fundraising strategies and plan; implement plan as required in designated region. -Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Philanthropy.   QUALIFICATIONS:  -Strong organizational skills -Strong verbal, written and presentation skills -Strong PC skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and internet research. Raiser’s Edge experiences is a plus. -Ability to interact with donors, volunteers, and the general public in a positive manner. -Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional ethics, including the ability to create personal relationships and communicate effectively delivering exceptional customer service to a variety of stakeholders. -Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Candidate must be able to travel throughout PPCCC geographic area.   EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: -BA or AA plus equivalent experience. -Minimum of 4 years fundraising experience; including some major donor cultivation and solicitation. -Ability to work in a busy environment, under pressure without compromising accuracy, attention to detail and courtesy to volunteers, donors and staff. -Ability to provide feedback to staff in a constructive manner resulting in motivation for change. -Ability to research and gather information. -Ability to organize large amounts of data/information into reports/presentations that all levels of staff can understand. -Willing to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and evenings when necessary.
