Job Description

WHAT'S THE JOB?

We are looking to hire a passionate Controls Technician!

position is primarily responsible for maintaining, servicing and commissioning computerized automated building controls (HVAC). Under specific task direction, the technicians work on the maintenance or installation of VCI Controls systems at various sites. To work on various sites, you must be able to obtain government security clearance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Install, wire, and commission BAS control systems (DDC panels, sensors, actuators, VAVs, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC controls, networks, and system integration
  • Perform point-to-point checkout and system verification
  • Modify and update control sequences and graphics as required
  • Support project teams with startup and commissioning activities
  • Respond to service calls and diagnose system issues in a timely manner
  • Work with multiple systems (Alerton, Siemens, Honeywell, Niagara, Strato/OCN+, etc.)
  • Coordinate with mechanical contractors, electricians, and other trades on-site
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including redlines, reports, and service notes
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and site requirements
  • Provide professional communication and support to clients

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in executing projects in the construction or building controls industry. Sound knowledge of building control systems and the construction environment.
  • Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / Control Technologies diploma or, minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in controls and/or HVAC.
  • PC/Computer Literate.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Superior time management and organization skills. 
  • Valid Driver’s License and clear abstract
  • Judgment & decision-making.
  • Planning & organizing. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excels in collaborative work environment.
  • Seeks long term development growth within company.
