The Role
We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Country Manager to lead the launch and development of Afternow’s operations in Peru. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, has experience building teams from scratch, and understands the dynamics of digital and technical roles. You will be responsible for setting up the local team, establishing processes, and ensuring alignment with Afternow’s global standards and culture.


What You'll Do

  • Lead the setup and growth of Afternow’s Peru office, including operational and administrative foundations
  • Build, manage, and develop a high-performing local team (recruitment, onboarding, coaching)
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the Peru office and global leadership
  • Define and implement local hiring strategies, with a focus on digital and technical roles
  • Establish efficient processes, workflows, and team structures
  • Ensure delivery quality and team performance meet company standards
  • Foster a strong, collaborative, and accountable team culture
  • Identify opportunities for growth and scaling in the local market
  • Support business development efforts where needed


What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a leadership or team lead role, ideally within a digital agency or tech environment
  • Technical background, ideally with previous hands-on experience in a technical role, or experience working closely with engineering teams
  • Solid understanding of modern tech stacks, including backend (e.g., Java, Spring Boot), frontend (e.g., React), and mobile (e.g., Flutter)
  • Demonstrated experience in building and scaling teams from scratch
  • Strong understanding of digital and/or technical roles (e.g., developers, designers, product roles, marketing specialists)
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable in a startup-like environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Fluent in English and Spanish

  • Experience in setting up new offices or expanding into new markets
  • Exposure to international teams or remote-first environments

  2. Video Call with HR - Initial conversation about fit, availability, and expectations
  3. Second interview with Leadership - If there is a strong match after the first conversation, we’ll invite you to a second interview with the Leadership team. This discussion will focus primarily on cultural fit, ownership, communication, and the way you approach collaboration and problem-solving. We may also revisit a few technical topics if anything needs additional clarification.
