About this role

Position Summary:

The Business Development Manager's (BDM) primary responsibility is to meet assigned revenue targets through brand awareness and direct sales. The BDM is accountable to establish and maintain effective and profitable sales relationships with multiple levels and functions within the clients’ organizations. In addition to actively prospecting for new accounts and new revenue, the BDM will maximize sales potential with existing customers within their respective region.


Key Accountabilities:                                                                                                         

Strategic Sales Plan Execution:

  • Align personal sales performance with organizational goals
  • Develop and execute sales plans for business and revenue growth in assigned markets
  • Manage end-to-end sales cycle, including contract negotiation
  • Develop accurate proposals, presentations, and bid responses

Deliver Revenue Targets:

  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets
  • Record sales activities regularly to ensure forecast accuracy

Customer Engagement and Relationship Management:

  • Identify and qualify sales opportunities based on clear understanding of customer needs
  • Establish and maintain trusted advisor relationships with partners and clients at all levels
  • Monitor evolving customer needs and articulate value propositions
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction

Lead Generation and Market Presence (Drive prospects to deliver opportunity targets):

  • Manage and nurture relationships with existing partners to identify and secure new business opportunities. Additionally, take charge of identifying and developing relationships with new partners to expand the business network
  • Pursue, research and close prospective leads in target markets
  • Set goals and implement initiatives for new target markets
  • Attend conferences and industry events supporting target markets
  • Keep current on relevant technologies and trends through industry involvement


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in international sales and business development in the Energy Service Sector including offshore and land with current knowledge of energy sector, industry trends and key indicators
  • Experience selling solutions into well intervention markets; 
  • Willingness and ability to travel; preference will be given to candidates with an established network within the Permian Basin
  • Results focused with proven ability to deliver on aggressive sales targets and increase market share through the acquisition of new clients and growing revenues in existing accounts
  • Enterprising self-starter who thrives in a variable and fast paced work environment; able to manage multiple activities and move them towards closure to meet deadlines
  • Proven success developing a strong sales opportunity funnel and delivering results
  • Ability to apply creative and innovative thinking to work activities; comfortable developing new solutions with an emphasis on problem-solving and achieving objectives
  • Motivated by personal accountability with a commitment to team environment dynamics; able to contribute input and follow leadership directives at appropriate times
  • Persuasive communicator with the ability to present ideas and influence in a variety of settings and across all levels of an organization
  • Competent user of technology including all Microsoft Office products, previous Salesforce or CRM experience would be considered an asset
