Job Description

Responsible for the performance of analytical analyses and taking care of equipment and materials used in the execution thereof in Eurofins Central Laboratory in Singapore. The Medical Technologist has further responsibilities as described hereto.

  • Independent performance, processing and reporting of analyses or parts thereof in a correct and accurate manner conforming to authorized work rules
  • Being critical about one's own work methods and the results obtained and checking of the quality of the results with the aid of first line controls
  • Control of instruments, including performing regular maintenance and rectifying of defects/faults in the instrument
  • Timely reporting of faults that cannot be fixed to the Laboratory Manager and/or delegate
  • Assessing, after processing the QC samples using QC software, the accompanying results and presenting them to the LIMS via the interface or manually for first line validation
  • First line validation of analysis results for which the incumbent is competent
  • Timely reporting of the need for reagents and consumables necessary for production and reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor and/or delegate
  • Assist in sample management department if the need arises
  • Maintain the order and tidiness in the workplace
  • Comply with the safety rules and use of personal protective equipment
  • Maintain the quality system of the laboratory by following all the QC in house procedures
  • Be familiar and compliant with all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Update the personal training file
  • Any task assigned by the Laboratory Manager and/or delegate

Qualifications

  • Must hold a B.Sc. degree or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of working experience in a clinical/central laboratory
  • Must possess good knowledge in the field of Laboratory Medicine
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skill
  • Must possess efficient communication skill
