Job Description

Job Purpose

The AV Manager is responsible for leading all audio-visual operations within the hotel, ensuring the seamless setup, operation, and maintenance of AV systems for events, shows, conferences, and daily operations. The role partners closely with Entertainment, Events, and operational teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and innovative AV experiences in line with brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

AV Operations & Technical Delivery

  • Oversee the setup, configuration, operation, and maintenance of all AV equipment, including sound systems, microphones, projectors, LED screens, lighting systems, video conferencing tools, and control desks
  • Ensure all AV equipment is fully functional, properly stored, and maintained; coordinate repairs and replacements when required
  • Plan and manage AV setups for events, meetings, shows, and entertainment programs
  • Provide on-site technical support during events and troubleshoot issues in real time
  • Manage sound checks, stage setups, lighting programming, DMX addressing, wireless frequencies, and artist technical riders

Team Leadership & Scheduling

  • Lead, train, and supervise the AV Supervisor and Technicians
  • Schedule staff and assign tasks to ensure full coverage of operational and event requirements
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and skills development

Inventory, Budget & Vendor Management

  • Manage AV inventory, usage records, and maintenance schedules
  • Prepare and control the AV department budget, including CAPEX and maintenance costs
  • Source, evaluate, and manage vendors and service providers; negotiate contracts to ensure quality and cost efficiency

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current with emerging AV technologies and industry best practices
  • Recommend and implement technical upgrades and workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and guest experience

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, Operational Standards Manual, and ISO Integrated Management Systems (Quality, LQA, Environment, Health, Safety & Risk Management)
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols for handling and operating AV equipment

Collaboration & Guest Experience

  • Work closely with Entertainment, Events, and Operations teams to align AV delivery with program objectives
  • Maintain strong awareness of hotel facilities, evening programs, and show schedules

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio-Visual Technology, Information Technology, Event Management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in AV management or a similar role
  • Strong working proficiency in English
