About the role
As F&B Manager, you are responsible for the entire Food & Beverage operation within the hotel. You ensure that our guests enjoy excellent service, a welcoming atmosphere, and high-quality products every single day. You lead the F&B team, optimize processes, and actively support the team on the floor when needed.

At ibis Amsterdam Airport, you will work with four different F&B outlets: a bar, burger bar, à la carte restaurant, and a buffet restaurant. This makes the role dynamic and varied.

 

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

 

  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, coach, and motivate the F&B team (including supervisors, bartenders, servers, chefs, and stewards).
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and facilitate professional development for all F&B staff.
    • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture across all outlets.
    • Recruit, onboard, and train new F&B team members in alignment with hotel standards and brand values.
    • Manage staff disciplinary actions and conflict resolution effectively and fairly.
  • Operational Management & Oversight:
    • Be responsible for the seamless daily operation and overall performance of our four F&B outlets: the bar, burger bar, à la carte restaurant, and buffet restaurant.
    • Ensure an excellent guest experience, consistently delivering high service quality and efficient operations in all F&B areas.
    • Oversee table management, seating efficiency, and reservation systems for relevant outlets.
    • Actively engage with guests to gather feedback, resolve complaints, and ensure  satisfaction.
    • Monitor and optimize operational flow and efficiency in kitchens, bars, and dining areas.
  • Financial Management & Cost Control:
    • Create staff schedules, monitor labor costs, and optimize staffing levels to maximize efficiency and service quality.
    • Manage inventory, conduct regular stock takes, minimize waste, and maintain optimal stock levels for all F&B products.
    • Negotiate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing, quality products, and timely deliveries.
    • Develop, monitor, and manage the F&B budget, including revenue forecasts, expense control, and profit margins for each outlet.
    • Analyze sales data and P&L statements to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Product Development & Quality Assurance:
    • Contribute ideas for innovative menus, seasonal promotions, special events, and continuous improvements within the F&B department.
    • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop appealing and cost-effective menu items for all outlets.
    • Ensure compliance with all local, national, and Accor brand hygiene and quality standards (HACCP, food safety regulations).
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance in all F&B areas and equipment.
    • Regularly assess product quality, presentation, and consistency across all offerings.
  • Strategic Planning & Collaboration:
    • Collaborate effectively with other departments within the hotel (Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales & Marketing, Maintenance) to ensure seamless guest service and operational synergy.
    • Participate in hotel management meetings, contributing F&B insights and strategies.
    • Develop and implement F&B strategies to increase revenue, enhance guest satisfaction, and improve operational efficiency.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and new F&B concepts to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Support the hotel's overall goals and objectives by ensuring F&B operations align with the broader business strategy.

Qualifications

Your Profile:

  • Proven leadership experience within the hospitality or food service industry.
  • A natural team player with demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
  • Guest-centric, energetic, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Flexible availability to accommodate evening and weekend shifts.
  • Proficiency in both Dutch and English.
  • Adept at thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional organizational oversight.
