Position Overview

We are seeking a versatile, high-level Lead Hand – Interior Systems & Finishing who is a true "Jack of All Trades." This is not a role for a specialist; we need someone who understands the entire lifecycle of a commercial interior from the first metal stud to the final piece of trim.


You will be the "Swiss Army Knife" on-site, capable of jumping from drywall and mudding to flooring and ceiling grids, all while maintaining the high standards required for 5-star hospitality and retail environments.

Who You Are:

  • The Expert: You have 5+ years of commercial construction experience, specifically in interior renos and fit-outs.
  • The Multi-Tool: You are proficient in Interior Framing, Keybar/Ceiling Systems, Flooring, Drywall, and expert-level Mudding & Taping.
  • The Professional: You likely have a carpentry background or are currently enrolled in an apprenticeship program. Formal trade schooling is a massive asset.
  • The Traveler: You are ready to hit the road for projects in Jasper, Banff, and beyond.
  • The Leader: You don't wait for instructions. You see a gap and fill it. You take pride in a clean site and a perfect finish.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety standards with the ability to identify and mitigate on-site hazards.
  • Bonus: experience working on heritage renovations, high-end commercial interiors, or luxury hospitality projects (e.g., 5-star hotels).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Interior Systems: Execute and oversee T-bar/ceiling grid installations and metal stud framing.
  • The Finish: Perform high-standard mudding, taping, and sanding for paint-ready finishes.
  • Versatility: Install various flooring types and architectural millwork/carpentry.
  • Site Flow: Work alongside the Site Supervisor to coordinate trades and ensure the project stays on schedule.
  • Safety: Lead by example. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in Commercial Construction (Retail/Restaurant/Hospitality).
  • Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel within Alberta.
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta Building Codes and safety standards.
  • Certifications: WHMIS, Working at Heights, and First Aid are mandatory.
  • Bonus: Journeyman ticket or Red Seal in Carpentry or Drywall Finishing.
