Job Description

  • Assist the Section Head in every aspect of mechanical engineering projects.
  • Ensure availability and accuracy of technical drawings and project information.
  • Determine the materials needed for mechanical installations and ensure their timely availability.
  • Ensure that all mechanical works are performed to the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Review and verify utility designs, shop drawings, and as-built drawings for compliance with project standards.
  • Supervise on-site execution of utility works ensuring quality, safety, and minimal service disruption.
  • Identify and resolve clashes between existing utilities and new infrastructure works through redesign or relocation.
  • Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and assist in cost/BOQ verification for utility works.
  • Coordinate with Supervisors/ foremen for all works.
  • Manage laborers, subcontractors and materials requisition to ensure quality, cost-effective, and timely project delivery.
  • Coordinate with site PM, consultants for approvals, work inspections and work completion.
  • Follow up with mechanical subcontractors and track mechanical progress through Material Inspection Reports (MIR) and Inspection Reports (IR).
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to resolve any conflicts or issues in mechanical systems installation.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of mechanical works.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate technical reports, including daily progress reports and site meeting minutes.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and technical submittals related to mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on the construction site.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on mechanical works progress.
  • Assist in the commissioning and testing of mechanical systems.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of value engineering proposals.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians in mechanical site engineering practices.
  • Resolving any construction-related issues or disputes that may arise at Site as well as in the documentation.
  • Monitoring project progress and ensuring timely completion within budget
  • Handling of Authorities like DEWA, DCD, DM and all local authorities.
  • To coordinate with in house Site Team for all the Projects of the division.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Section Head or Project Manager.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the construction field, with at least 3 years specifically in site engineering roles
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications 
  • Excellent command of English language, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • In-depth understanding of HVAC systems, FLS, plumbing, Storm water and irrigation systems and other mechanical installations
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent project management and organisational abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Willingness to work on-site in various weather conditions
  • Valid UAE driving licence
